EDITORIAL BOARD CDS VISIT GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL, WUSE ZONE 3

The Editorial Board Community Development Service (CDS) group spearheaded by socio-enlightenment sub-group visited Government Secondary School (GSS), Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, to give a presentation on Drug Abuse and Addiction to SS1 and SS2 students.

Corps members Maryam Ibrahim and Aisha Habib Aliyu commenced with an introduction covering the definition of drug abuse and addiction, purpose of the presentation and a general overview of the topic.
Following that, the students broke out into groups and corps members serving as facilitators led interactive discussions on signs and symptoms of drug abuse and addiction, as well as the side effects and treatment for addiction. The students were very participative and comfortable enough to ask questions.

At the end of the discussion, refreshments were given to the students. A vote of thanks was then delivered by a student representative, while a cardboard with basic information about drug abuse was presented to the Headmistress of the school. The visit ended with a photograph session, while contact details were exchanged between facilitators and students.
