CORPS MEMBER SETS UP COMPUTER LABORATORY IN GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL, GALADIMA

As a way of giving back to the community, Corps members Akpomedaye Ese Grace of the 2013 Batch C embarked on a Personal Community Development Service Project to set up a Computer Laboratory in Government Secondary School, Galadima.

Prior to commencement of the project, she wrote to the NYSC FCT Secretariat on her intention of setting up a Computer Laboratory in one of the Government Secondary Schools in Abuja. She also served notice to the FCT Universal Basic Education Board and the Principal of Government Junior Secondary School, Galadima.

One empty room was approved by the school authority to renovate and convert to a computer laboratory and digital library. 5 computers and the sum of N150,000 were donated by the Director General of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mr. Peter Jack, and Mr. G. A. Adams of Covenant Seed of Abraham respectively. 

With the funds, she was able to renovate the empty room, repair the ceiling fans and wall sockets, and buy UPS for the computers. As a graduate of Computer Science, she was able to set up the computers and install software, educational e-books and antivirus.
