Or have you wondered why people kiss and stare deep into the eyes of their partners in cosy, dimly lit dinner rooms when slow sensational songs are being played, it weaves a tender and loving emotion around them and they lose sight of their surroundings and drink from the soul of the person right before them, it is magical in its own way. What else could we call a thing that does so much to the human mind without even as much as a physical touch?
Music is not only this strong on human emotions and senses, it affects mammals and other species of God’s creations. They make their own music as well, as ours has different impacts on them. I am not a scientist but I have read of experiments carried out using music to calm animals. The Indians use music to control cobras one of the most deadly snakes in human history.
Another research was done using music as a soothing agent for people in mental institutions and it worked wonders to stabilize them, even in very violent cases. What does this tell you? Some years ago I personally did a research for my project on the use of music as a teaching aid particularly in English language. I discovered a lot of interesting things. Sound waves are only second to imitation in terms of learning. A person can learn a song of 10 pages without even realising it and it would stick for years to come. Hence we still remember so many songs we learnt as children, even those we never learnt in black and white.
As we grow up our choices of music are influenced by things around us, our experiences, our relationships , current trends and our environment but the one thing that never changes is your status as a music lover or a non music lover. I love music, I love how it makes me feel, it is a better companion than most though it cannot replace human interactions.
My music gives life to my soul, my music brings colour to my day and my music gives rhythm to my body. What does your music do for you?
