STORY OF ANTNIA

(real names have been withheld to protect privacy)
Today I had made my rounds, round the market hoping to find a perfect print trouser and after enough ups and down I was done for the day. I was grumpy, it was hot, to top it off the sellers weren't nice either, this was against the backdrop that the government had taken down their shades for a better one which most of them could not afford.

With enough sadness to kick the first day of the week, I was out of the market, when I heard that voice. "If you no dey buy the Ugwu (vegetable), abeg drop am".
Ok let me take you a while back, this was less than a decade, when my body frame made me look like a toddler in high school, it wasn't funny sha.
You see in my class I was the least grown woman, it was like being on a class of BeyoncĂ©, Rihanna, nicki Minaj and I was the Ariana Grande. But what made Antnia stand out? She was the queen bee! She wasn't so kind either, my Maths, English textbooks will be missing and they will be in her possession, in fact with the ownership already ripped out
See I was never one to be bullied, as feisty I am now, so was I then and Antnia got a piece of me, though she threatened to beat the hell out of me I had my way to get back.
Fast forward today Antnia still had that bully voice I could recognize, but you see Antnia never got pass high school.
Guessing Antnia had seen me from afar she had turned her back on me as I approached, she had a son behind her and was expecting another. So I got closer, took two Egusi seeds and threw at her she didn't bulged, I shouted Antnia Antnia, but she still had this seriousness that showed she wasn't replying my call any sooner. So I went my way…….Now I'm thinking could Antnia after all these years still hold a grudge or she didn't answer to my call because I was in my usual Gafa look?
See I've never been a writer, in fact I studied mass communication as a default for my talkative nature and I'm seek. If I can build on that! So what do y'all think of my first try.
