WAR AGAINST POVERTY CDS GROUP VISITATION TO ORPHANAGE HOME

The members of War Against Poverty (WAP) Community Development Service (CDS) group who often gather at the Zoological Garden, Area 1, paid a charity visit to the New Covenant Orphanage Home, Kuje.

In a chat with one of the group’s executives, we gathered that the funds used by the group were raised in house. Prior to the visit, Pledge cards were given to members of the group to give voluntarily whatever they could spare, while a compulsory sum of N400 was paid by all members to cover the expenses of transportation and logistics.

On arrival at the home, they group was warmly welcomed by the home keepers, chairs and a canopy were provided for them, while they interacted with the children. Bags of Rice, Bags of Garri, Cartons of Indomie, Detergent and Toiletries, were some of the items donated by the group.

In a closing remark, given by the Orphanage Workers, they thanked the corps members profusely and expressed their pleasure at the visit, stating that they should keep up the good work. Prayers were also made on the behalf of the corps members.

At the end of the visit most of the group members commented on how happy they were at the success of the Project and stated that they were looking forward to more Projects.
