After scouring the country to find the most talented persons, top-rated talent television show, ‘Nigeria’s Got Talent’ crowned Amarachi Uyanne as the winner of its first season. The primary school student beat out hundreds of acts to win the coveted N10 million grand prize.
Amarachi Uyanne was born on July 17, 2004 and hails from Benin City, Edo State. Before fame she attended South Point Primary School in Benin. In 2012, she became Nigeria’s youngest non-inheritor millionaire having broken the previous record set by Solomon Ebuka Nwanke Ubani who became a millionaire at age 20.
When asked what she would do with the prize money she received as Winner of the Nigeria Got Talent show, she said “I will use part of the money to support the orphans in our society. Also, I will pay my tithe in my church as well as fund my education and that of my siblings abroad.” She has already set up a talent school for young dancers in Benin City.
Mrs Emike Uyanne, Mother of Amarachi explains how she intends to manage her daughter to realise her dreams. "It’s by the grace of God. I thank God for helping me discover the talent in her. I have always known that she is the showbiz type, though this is not her first competition. She is into beauty contest (Pageantry), apart from that; I also noticed she can dance very well. I didn’t really think of the competition when I was filling the form for her. I just wanted her to get use to the crowd and learn to conquer stage-fright. But you can see where it has landed us today. I thank God for everything."
Nigeria's Got Talent is the third diadem Amarachi won in 2012. She won the 'Little Miss 7Up Edo State,' in addition to being the queen of her school. Little wonder that despite the glamour of these laurels, she remains focused on actualising her ambition of becoming a medical doctor. "I will be dancing, singing, and a medical doctor," she said on how she would be combining her passion and vocation.

Amarachi in 2013 released her debut single “Amarachi’s Dance” produced by Galaxy beats and the video directed by Clarence Peters. It quickly received warm reception across the country, although few criticized it for lacking sufficient lyrical content and advised she stick to just dancing. One would be reminded of the child star Willow Smith, daughter of American multi-talented Musician and Actor, Will Smith, in Amarachi’s charisma, the frames and costume-particularly the hair and lips.
We do not know how far she would have to go to become a bankable artiste in the very lucrative music industry, but this one video is a clear indication she means business.
