RELATIONSHIPS THAT WORK

“Everyone desires a perfect relationship; a relationship that is void of quarrels, challenges, obstacles and so on. But the truth is this: there is no such relationship”

A wise person once said that relationships are like houses and when a light bulb is faulty, you don’t buy another house, you fix the light bulb. What this simply implies is that, there are steps you must take for a relationship to work before you think of quitting on the relationship. Every relationship has its own difficulties and that’s why I’ll like to show you factors which when adopted work out any relationship.

1) Be patient and wait for Mr Right
2) Build your relationship
3) Hold on to God

BE PATIENT AND WAIT FOR MR RIGHT
“Just because everybody is in a relationship doesn't mean that you should rush into one. Relationships that work aren't created in a hurry.”

You must take time to know a person before you think of dating them. Patience plays a very important role at this point and you must not ignore it. It takes patience to get to know an individual before you decide that they are right for you. Remember, if you rush into something, you’ll definitely rush out of it.
“There is no perfect guy, only the right guy”

BUILD YOUR RELATIONSHIP
“Every relationship has challenges and difficulties but the ones that stand are those that have strong foundations.”

I’m referring to relationships that have been properly built and are still nourished every day. To build your relationship is to engage in activities that would cause you and your partner to bond. Such activities involve spending time together praying, playing, eating, etc. To build your relationship is to ensure that your partner is moving forward just as you are. To build your relationship is to prayerfully commit it to God every single day. To build your relationship is to avoid any form of physical intimacy that would negatively affect your relationship and its future. To build your relationship is to always ensure that you’re the best person for your partner and vice versa. When you build your relationship, it will definitely withstand tough times and always come out stronger.

HOLD ON TO GOD

“A relationship that works is one that is stuck to God. To create something beautiful, you must involve the One who makes everything beautiful and that is God Almighty.”

If your relationship is not built upon the solid rock of Christ, it will never last and time will definitely tell this truth. Before you start a relationship, involve God and even as time progresses, continually involve God. Believe me, when you seriously involve God before and during a relationship, it will never fail. He is all you need to make your relationship work and this is because all other factors required to make a relationship work are rooted in Him.
